Fantasy Faire 2019 had a target of raising US$40,000 for the American Cancer Society as part of its Relay For Life fundraising efforts.
News then arrived that if Fantasy Faire did indeed reach its target, an anonymous organisation would add US$20,000 to the pot.
The good news is that US$40,000 has been raised by Second Life residents and the US$20,000 has been donated by the anonymous organisation.
News of both events arrived via an inworld notecard :
The Ten Million Lindens we raised in the last two weeks would be an extraordinary accomplishment on its own. But it’s not on its own. We did what we said we would do, and our anonymous friends have done the same.

The inworld notecard was followed by a tweet from Relay For Life Second Life :
Congratulations to the Fantasy Faire for reaching your L$10Million goal! The match brings your total to $60,000 USD for the American Cancer Society. pic.twitter.com/rLOxHQ8znZ

This means that this year’s total for Fantasy Faire stands at over US$60,000 and there are still a couple of days left. Although the main activities have ceased, there’s still plenty of questing, shopping, exploring, tabletop games and literary related activities going on, for an overview of the remaining events go here.
Fantasy Faire 2019 has been an amazing spectacle, packed with fun activities and as usual, my only complaint is that it’s over far too quickly!
