The US Holocaust Museum has long been a feature in Second Life and yet, despite its age, it still conveys a powerful message.
The main exhibit; “Witnessing History: Kristallnacht, the 1938 Pogroms” is an interactive journey through a harrowing history.
The exhibit features sound, text and video to tell the stories of those who survived and didn’t survive the holocaust, it’s an emotional and atmospheric experience, but be warned, it contains the sort of graffiti and symbolism that some may find offensive, but that has to be included to cover this period of history.
The videos feature people who witnessed the history, it’s well worth listening to those voices and viewing the old photography and information.
There’s plenty to see here and it’s worth taking your time to look around and interact with objects that provide much of the information.
Whereas the build isn’t bang up to date, it still very much works in terms of its central purpose and that’s the important part of this exhibit.
