Sunday night saw Fantasy Faire 2013 pretty much winding up with the one of kind auction in The Valley Of IshNar. This is an event whereby creators offer unique items for auction to raise money for Relay For Life and the event proved very popular:
Sim performance during the auction was excellent, with auctioneer Cortez Brandriss proving to be an expert auctioneer, all that experience from doing auctions for Oceania Breedables certainly came in handy there, she was fantastic.
The auction saw the fundraising effort for Relay For Life cross the eight million Linden Dollars barrier for this year’s Fantasy Faire, I don’t yet know what the final total is.
The only technical issue I had was with regards to photography and hey, let’s be realistic here, if you are going to cam around a sim with 100 avatars on it you are likely to tax your graphics card, especially if it’s not state of the art, which mine isn’t.
I focussed in on Sonya Marmurek, Alia Baroque, Marcus Inkpen and Ursula Floresby but I’m not sure that the result was quite what was expected:
I’m not at all sure if the ghostly figure in the background is supposed to be ghostly or whether my graphics card had given up fetching more textures at this point. However in terms of walking around or listening to the auction, sim perfomance was just fine.
I’m not sure who else hosted the auction, there was an Australian lady, who got quite emotional regarding the generous nature of the bids, it was a wonderful event and a very fine way to begin the end of this year’s event, although it’s not quite over, even now.
