Fantasy Faire 2012, has issued a call for bloggers, which you can read here. There are some terms and conditions associated with this, you need to have been blogging for at least two months and update your blog once a week to be accepted. I’m not totally happy with restrictions like this but I imagine it’s because you can be assigned to sims and merchants, if you’re not a regular blogger you may not realise what this entails and how time consuming it can be. However I’d rather they didn’t have the restrictions, but they do, there is some logic in this when it comes to being assigned to a sim or store.
If you are assigned to a store, you will need to write about at least one item from each store you’re assigned to. This means you will need to be pretty sure you can meet these goals because if you’re assigned to a store and can’t blog, then that means someone else won’t be blogging about it either. However if the idea of being assigned to sims and stores is unappealing, you can still apply to blog about Fantasy Faire 2012 in general, you will get sneak previews if you go either route so if you think general blogging is better, go that route, if you do like the sound of it fill in the online form on the site I linked to above.
I blogged this event last year, you will find my blogs from last year here, this may give you an idea about ways to blog about the event but it was too much for me to blog every day, don’t over extend yourself.
This can be time consuming, but also a lot of fun and very rewarding in terms of finding new content and ventures. Last year, I got to see awesome Gnomes at The Oran Store:
I’d never seen this before or met the merchant, Inish Karu, who was a lot of fun to interview, you can read the interview here.
I also wangled it so I got to speak to my chief Elf and the very talented Luna Barak of Moonstruck/Fantavatar, lots of fun, but as I said earlier, don’t over extend yourself!
Hello Ciaran,
we asign Bloggers to Stores to make sure that all stores will be blogged. As all of the stores created special fundraising items for Relay for Life, it would be a pity if only few items will be appear in the blogs. Which often happens at events.
Asigning bloggers to stores has also the benefit that the storeowners and the bloggers get to know each other which might lead to a friendship at the end.
Luckily many bloggers have applied to blog the fantasy faire so there will be at least 2 or 3 bloggers asigned to every store.
So that if real life happens the store still gets blogged.
Knowing many bloggers personally I am also able to ask them to blog more when all bloggers who are asigned to one store are not able to blog it.
I hope that answers your questions.

Hi Dagmar, I pointed out it was logical, I blogged fantasy faire last year and hope to blog it this year, I just worry the rules will put some enthusiatic new bloggers off blogging, I pointed out that if someone says they will blog about a store and doesn’t, it may leave a hole, so I do understand, I just want as many people as possible blogging on Fantasy Faire, it’s my favourite event of the year.
We got around 50 applications in the first 24 hours and have now more than 100.
I had actually hoped to get around 80 bloggers as thats the amount needed to asign every store to two bloggers. But at the moment it seems like it might be possible to asign every store to 3 bloggers and to have a wide range of bloggers.
A good thing was that we asked the bloggers to check if they blog items for men, landscapes, builds, petites or tinies which allows to asign bloggers to stores which fit to them. So its avoided for example that a male blogger – when he filled out the formula correctly – gets items to blog which are only for females.
And for bloggers who do not fullfill the rules there is always the possibility to get early access.
I just compared the requirements for bloggers for the fantasy faire with a blogger invitation for an other event and there at least 2 entries per week had been the requirement. So the rules are not that hard. And if a blogger is enthusiatic he or she will write enough and take enough pictures to be considered as blogger for the Fantasy Faire.
For me its important that Designers, Visitors and Bloggers enjoy the Fantasy Faire. As its also my favourite event.
