Fantasy Faire 2017 hosts a six hour closing party today, from 1pm to 7pm SLT, but the word on the streets of the Fairelands is that this party does not mark the end of this year’s Fantasy Faire.
Via means of nods, winks, secret messages and most importantly of all, an inworld notecard, I can reveal non-exclusively, that this year’s Fantasy Fare 2017 will be open until Thursday May 4th.
The notecard states :
From Her High Faireness: “It’s not a typo! The Fairelands will be open for shopping, hunting, exploring, picture taking, and spontaneous partying through May 4th! Spread the news, even though our planned programming is ending with a six hour closing party on Monday, May 1 from 1-7pm SLT, there is no reason to be sad because we have the Fairelands to roam around until THURSDAY!”
Whereas there won’t be any official events going on, this means that you still have time to visit the wonderful builds for this year’s event.
The closing party will be hosted by three DJ’s :
- 1-3pm SLT – Elrik Merlin
- 3-5pm SLT – David Abbot
- 5 – 7pm SLT – Zander Green
Plenty of time for merriment.
The closing party will take place in the Arts & Entertainment region of Opal Flight.
The Silent auction will also end today at 3pm SLT, so you still have time to get final bids in.
Another point to note is that with the Fairelands being open until May4th, that means that you will also have until May 4th to finish the Fairelands Quest.
Fantasy Faire is of course not all about fantastical merriment, as much fun as that is, it’s also part of the Relay For Life in Second Life fundraising efforts for the American Cancer Society.
As of 11pm SLT on April 30th, this year’s Fantasy Faire had raised 8,181,043 Linden Dollars, which amounts to US$ 31,466, which is a very impressive effort.
