The Second Annual Unmasking a Cure (UAC) Medieval Faire opened on June 17th and runs until June 26th. The event is a fundraiser for Relay For Life in Second Life and items will be on sale for that purpose with all proceeds from those sales going to Relay For Life.
The faire is in the style of a renaissance faire and activities include jousting, en garde, sword play, magic, archery, and horse racing. There will also be entertainment with a dozen live performers and numerous DJ’s entertaining the medieval masses.
There are over 50 merchants participating at the faire too so if you want to kit out your avatar or just take a look at the wares available, this may be the faire for you.
There are also roleplaying groups participating in the faire, so if you see people speaking in strange tongues, they may well be roleplaying.
Don’t fear if you’ve never experienced fencing in Second Life, on the Event calendar you will find dates and times for activties such as En Garde.
The location of the faire itself is, as you would expect, a medieval style setting and is very well designed with nice open paths throughout.
A lot of attention this week will rightly be on the Second Life 13th birthday celebrations, but if you want a break from that with some fun activities and entertainment in a location that will probably be less chaotic, this is an event well worth visiting and it is of course, in aid of a very good cause.
2nd Annual Relay for Life Medieval Faire
Experience knights charging towards each other, lances lowered in the Sport of Kings. Warriors testing their mettle in combat; winner takes all. Cheer on archers, arrows soaring through the air towards targets. Walk the paths of the Medieval market or relax to the soothing sounds of minstrels. Join us as we go Medieval on Cancer at the 2nd Annual UAC Medieval Faire, held June 17 – 26, 2016.
