Fantasy Faire in Second Life turns 10 this year and plans are well underway for the event which takes place April 19th – 29th.
The first steps for this year’s event were announced by Sonya Marmurek on 22nd February and in that link you will find an application form for merchants and sponsors.
This year’s event will host ten regions for merchants to ply their wares and raise money for Relay For Life, but as I type this I can see that seven of those ten regions are already sold out.
Sponsorship options are already selling out too but fear not, there are other ways to get involved. Fantasy Faire Radio has sponsorship opportunities.
There are also opportunities to get involved in the auctions and the hunt, so don’t despair if you feel you’re too late to apply to get involved, there are still plenty of ways to get involved.
This week a call went out for bloggers. There are many ways to blog Fantasy Faire, the requirements are not too demanding, as the blog post regarding blogger applications informs us :
All I ask, all that the Fairelands ask is that you act as their Herald, as their Chronicler. Spread the word far and wide, enjoy the Faire Life and choose your style of blogging as it best befits you. Come join us in this tenth Fantasy Faire, come celebrate the whole decade of imagination.
If you’re stuck for ideas on what you can blog about, Fantasy Faire offers up some inspiration in the form of some voluntary blogger challenges.
The challenges are :
Faire Folk – create a character from the Fairelands
My New Shiny – show off a shop that is new to you
I Remember – reminisce about previous Fairelands
Faire Life – blog and report about Faire events
Why I Relay – share your reasons to Relay
Obviously you don’t need to be an official blogger to blog about Fantasy Faire, but it’s nice to be part of the team. Fantasy Faire is an event where everyone is welcome, even Elves!
Photographers are also most welcome, there’s an awesome Flickr pool where you can share your snapshots.
I hope many of you come and join the event, it’s fun, trust me, even with Elves, it’s still fun!
