Visit Forgotten City In Second Life Before The Clocks Stop

Forgotten City

Mandy Marseille, owner of clockpunkish region Forgotten City, has posted the sad news over at SLUniverse that Forgotten City is going offline Sept. 2015. The reasons for the closure are outlined in the post. There’s also some interesting history in Mandy’s post regarding the region and how they tried to make this city thrive.

Toy Soldiers?

Forgotten City, for those who have never been there is described as :

A once great city where the prosperous residents were served by the miraculous mechanical automatons. The people have long since disappeared, but the automatons remained and still take care of the crumbling stone walls, abandoned halls and rusty fences.

The automations generally did not quite come to life, but they still look great and the region is wonderfully atmospheric.

Boat

There’s plenty to do and see in the region and the notecard you are offered on arrival is well worth accepting because some of the attractions are in the sky. One glaring example of this is the ski jump, in a wintry location, which you won’t easily find if you roam the main area.

There are also boards around the region which will help you to teleport to locations and attractions.

Water Level

Other attractions include an alien shooting game, a race track and a toy factory where other games are available.

Forgotten City Royalty

Alternatively you could hop into a rowing boat and take a leisurely boat ride on the water.

This is definitely a place that is well worth a visit, it’s photogenic, beautifully presented and a lot of fun. The clock may be ticking, but you still have time to visit.

  1. Oh no! Forgotten City is one of the most attractive locations I ever saw in SL. It´s something special. The atmosphere, the buildings, omg these buildings are awesome! I love the robots, the catship and all the little things you can explore. Do you ever go by ship to the other locations to explore? Do you ever wander through the dark alleys around? It´s so exciting. Too many good places disappear in SL. Without Forgotten City SL is getting poorer again. So thank you so much, Mandy, that you gave us your Forgotten City to enjoy and explore. It will never be forgotten.
    I´m really sad about it.
