Fantasy Faire isn’t just about shopping, they have events, roleplay and hunts to come too. Fantasy Faire Radio is spinning the tunes onboard the FFR Radio Ship FaireChylde. However being as this is Fantasy Faire the ship is held in the air by a giant dragon! There you will find the DJ booth and you may even meet some funky looking DJ’s.
There are also live musicians from time to time, a good place to find out about by happenings is via The Fantasy Faire website, particularly the Faire Happenings page.
Two hunts are planned for this year’s event, scripted by David Abbot and designed and constructed by Rynn Verwood. The first hunt will be FIMBLEBY’S WAGER :
A loud-mouthed drunk bets that he’s smarter than you. Head for Wiggenstead Mooring and find Fimbleby in the tavern to match your wits against his, prove him wrong and win what others have lost before you – and an extra something that might just come in handy later…
The second part of the hunt takes place in the Palace Of Tears, which is open now.
However you will have to wait to see what secrets lie within. There are some mysterious looking statues around that sim, I wonder if they will come to life?
Then there’s roleplay, The Revenge Of Professor Timmons Scene 1 is already in progress.
This is a steampunk event brought to the Faire by the Neo-Victoria roleplayers. Also on the Fantasy Faire blog is an interview with the sponsors of the Heavenslough sim, The Creators of Fantasy. Alrunia Ahn of Lilith’s Den, Eldowyn Inshan of United InshCon and SweetGwendoline Bailey of ~*Sweet Revolutions*~ are the said creators of fantasy and give a good insight into the inspiration and origins of their involvement in Second Life. I must say I’m impressed with a lot of what they have to say :
I started as roleplayer, coming from reenactment in real life this was a perfect addition. Well, and you do need equipment for reenactment and roleplay and like in real life, I began crafting my own – pretty fast got invited into the team of builders of the estate. Eventually I became – thanks to Ciaran Laval – estate manager and chief designer of the Isle of Dee, and added landscaping and environment design to my skills list. So since I got the chance to play with whole sims the items became definitely bigger and I much closer to my dream of crafting and designing virtual worlds and events.
Hey that was a coincidence! Ok ok one of them is my Chief Elf, I’m so proud of her. However people put a lot of time into roleplaying in Second Life, a lot of the time they do it for love of roleplay, more than anything else, they deserve a lot of credit.
