Linden Lab have decided to send us for just one more for this desolate shore … oh wait, that’s night boat to Cairo! Now they’re sending us deep into the jungle and as we’re not celebrities, we can’t get out of there! Indeed if you journey around you’ll even find Lindens who are driven to drink, as Michael Linden appeared to be anyway!

Michael Linden

Maybe Michael was just offering happy hour discounts on Mole beer! The problem with that is that if you’re not a premium member, you won’t be able to enjoy this adventure, as detailed in the blog post, which you can read here. However if you fancy trying out premium membership, there’s currently a 50% discount on the quarterly plan, which is also detailed in the blog post. The offer runs until Monday March 26th.

Now I arrived on my Amazonian adventure by searching the destination guide and decided to head for the Caiman sim, the SLURL of where I landed was:

There I was greeted by some strange beasts and a hut:

Caiman Sim

Herd these critters

These sims demonstrate some of the new tools Linden Lab will be unleashing upon content creators, at the end of the month. These beasts avoid you, but if you can manage to open the gate and herd them in there you win prizes, one wasn’t too difficult, for which I won a prize but I didn’t quite manage to get three in the pen for the super prize.

There are other beasts around, some require two people to ride on them, whereas others require two people at least to engage in a race:

Leech Racing

However if you don’t fancy riding horned beasts, fear not, there are canoes and ferries around to take you on your Amazonian adventure, if you take a canoe you will be handed a paddle, you control the canoe with the cursor keys and ride along down the river, avoiding crocodiles if you can:

Piranha Sim

Now remember, you’re not likely to be alone in the jungle, which is just as well as you’ll be engaging in multi user activities, if you’re that way inclined, therefore you may well find that you run into other intrepid explorers, such as Marianne McCann!

Marianne McCann

Actually it looks like Mari was catching a night boat to Cairo too … maybe that should be the theme for the next great adventure! Hey that has potential, being chased by rolling rocks in caves,  you get to carry a whip and wear a funky hat…. hmm this may have been done before.

As I said earlier, part of this premium only venture is to demonstrate the new pathfinding tools and they seem to work rather well, for more read the blog post, see the video or go explore yourself!
