Get out those poodle skirts, bobby socks and saddle shoes or the leather jackets, cuffed jeans and don those ducktails, we’re headed back to the 50’s! It’s time for the 5th Annual Back to the 50’s Weekend for Relay for Life! It’s all happening June 10th, 11th and 12th, 2011.

The weekend begins with a Sock Hop and a Skating Party with some of SL’s excellent DJs. on June 10th, from 6-8 PM.

Saturday will see festivities all day long. The carnival opens at 9 am. Carnival rides, game booths, the mechanical bull (with a FABULOUS grand prize); kissing booth; Dunk Tank; carnival clowns and watch out for the Police who will be slamming all hooligans straight in the slammer. Send out a warrant and have them arrested Yep,they’ll have to bail their way out. The Classic Car Contest returns on Friday night, where you can vote over and over again for your favorites. Be sure and visit the Labyrinth, too.. who knows the fun twists and turns that could take? Saturday will end with another Sock Hop and Skating Party.

Be sure and shop our town shoppes and look for the special things selling especially for RFL, by some our RFL teams!

The fun continues all day Sunday, the 12th and ends with skating party at 6pm or a double feature at the drive-in movie theater from 6-9pm SLT.

It’s a jam-packed oldie, but goodie weekend.. and it’s all for Relay for Life!

Designing Worlds is the hit weekly show on design and designers in virtual worlds, brought to you by Prim Perfect Productions, the people behind Prim Perfect in co-production with treet.tv, the leading TV network in today’s virtual environments such as Second Life. From its roots as a “meta-makeover” show, the programme has developed into a magazine/factual format, adding interviews and visits to some of the most impressive locations in Second Life and other virtual environments.

The show goes out live in 720p High Definition every Monday at 2pm SLT/Pacific Time and is repeated through the week on the Treet Lifestyle channel. Shows can also be viewed on the Treet Designing Worlds and downloaded as podcasts via iTunes.

Dynamic Login Screens and Basic Mode Needs Inventory

I haven’t spent much time Second Life this weekend, nor in Second Life related sites, since Thursday I’ve been busily trolling Liberal Democrat websites to laugh as they wallow in their own misery, this isn’t strictly true, they just make it too easy not to laugh at them but I have been offering them supportive advice, much as I dislike Toxic Nick Clegg, I do like three party politics in the UK, the Lib Dems need to move away from being Tory Lite and more to being a left of centre social democratic party, which worked a treat for the SNP in Scotland.

However there’s only so much fun one person can have with politics, it gets boring really quickly, so let’s get back to Second Life and the rather delightful sight of blog updates and promotions on the new dynamic login screen:

Pre Fabulous began in 2006 when Fornicola Butuzova and Amo Lambeau began creating buildings they sold, to earn spending money to support their shopping and partying habits in Second Life. Sale by sale their business grew until 2009 when they both decided that it was time to go full time and create homes, stores, and other buildings in Second Life for a living.

Pre Fabulous does not follow the “Features and Fashion” way of thinking about building in SL, they rather take a more narrative approach to serving the needs of Second Life residents. Their belief is that people come to Second Life to realize fantasies or express some other ideal of themselves. If they want to fall in love in a tropical paradise, be the toast of the Manhattan skyline, or the Lord of a mighty kingdom, whatever their dream maybe they need help.

Rather than chase trends, Forni and Amo, focused on helping Second Life players tell their story. They created buildings that have a reason for existing, buildings that convey an emotional connection to the story their customers want to tell. One of their core beliefs is “A house is made of bricks… A home is made of cracks”. It is the cracks that tell the story of a house that say something about why it is there, who lived there, of the experiences that were shared, between its walls. Shameless Bits!!

Bringing romance into SL at affordable prices. With loving beach and outdoor furniture which helps to set the mood for those romantic moments! You can find everything to make your outdoors (and even indoors) as romantic as can be!

They also have a pretty extensive landscaping section as well, including “Kissing Trees”, that let you kiss and dance and cuddle on the branches, try one out.

There is also a pretty great Midnight Mania board. All new releases go in it (a Lite version of course). They try to have new releases twice a week, and the full version of those items can be purchased 1/2 off until the board changes.

MIDNIGHT MANIA:
There is a new item for the store twice a week. The new release are put into the Midnight Mania Board. It’s a lite version of the new release (usually 2-5 animations – the full version usually has around 50-100 animations). There’s always something pretty nice on the board, come slap it as you’re looking around!
