Elves! Bloody Elves, they’re not quite as bad as Hobbits, Hobbits are devious little buggers but Elves refuse to come over to the darkside of Elfdom and embrace Drowism. However, in my last post I discussed the issues surrounding Elf Clan in Second Life and suggested that if I were them, I’d accept the offer being made by Linden Lab.
Then I surveyed the sky, decided it might rain and put my coat on for the journey to Villa Park. Whilst there I witnessed an absolutely awful game of football and returned home for find out that Elf Clan have indeed said yes to Linden Lab’s offer! Oh and as an aside, one word of advice to Elf Clan, the name of CEO is Rod Humble!
Never work with Elves and Hobbits is my advice here! However it’s good to see that Elf Clan will be staying in Second Life for a while longer, they are a large group but there’s no way they should get grandfathered tier status on their sims, for a start it wouldn’t be grandfathering, it would be specially selected discounting and that’s going to lead to all sorts of issues because there are a lot of groups and sims that add something special to Second Life, but it’s not Linden Lab’s role to make massive discounts.
The issue of tier prices isn’t going away any time soon, so it’s something that all of us need to deal with but really, Linden Lab need to find new ways of generating income, which I’ll discuss briefly in my next post, for now, here’s a picture of Runa The Elf, whom I work with a lot.
Well, we could kidnap a bunch of elves and put them to work making shoes. Do you know how much Linden is spent on shoes?
I know Stiletto Moody have made a shed load from them!
I guess it’s good that LL are being proactive.
