Virtual Worlds Best Practices in Education Conference is scheduled to run from April 4th – 6th, but as well as the main conference there are events happening outside those dates for people to explore and enjoy.
Scheduled keynote speakers are :
- Dr. Tom Boellstorff, Professor, Department of Anthropology, University of California, Irvine.
- Dr. Tuncer Can, Assistant Professor, English Language Teaching Department, Istanbul University.
- Dr. Jonathon Richter, Chair of Digital Design Technologies at Salish Kootenai College on the Flathead Indian Reservation in western Montana and co-founder and Executive Director of the Immersive Learning Research Network.
You can read more about the keynote speakers on the VWBPE official page about keynotes.
Whereas the conference officially starts on April 4th, you don’t have to wait until April 4th to get into the VWBPE spirit because immersive experiences will be available before and after the main conference, indeed some have already opened up.
The immersive experiences will take place across five virtual environments including VRchat, Second Life and Kitely.
Details of the experiences can be found on the VWBPE Immersive Experiences page, but please ensure you pay close attention to the VWBPE Calendar for information on how to attend the experiences and the latest details on when the experiences will be held.
