A Spoonful of Sugar For Medecins Sans Frontieres

Another Windmill

The Spoonful of Sugar festival in Second Life opened on March 18th and runs until April 1st. This is a fundraising event for Medecins Sans Frontieres (Doctors without borders) who are often found providing humanitarian aid in some of the world’s most crisis ridden zones.

Balloons

A previous Second Life fundraiser under this banner raised a total of USD$11,118.

The event, like many charity fundraisers in Second Life, involves shopping, fashion, breedables, live music, DJ’s and more.

MSF Balloon

The event was founded in Second Life by Ever Courtois, who spoke at the official opening launch on March 18th and Jeremy Wells, Fundraising Events Manager, MSF Greater New York City Area, New York, USA was also scheduled to speak. Unfortunately I wasn’t at the opening ceremony so I cannot report on the ceremony.

Home & Garden

The regions used for the event are well laid out with a well designed setting, which makes navigating the area very easy.

To keep an eye on events, just check out the event calendar.

This is another worthy cause getting attention in Second Life and there are of course many others, keep an eye on the destination guide for more fundraising events.
