New Failed Teleport Message?

I keep meaning to uninstall the Second Life Beta viewer, not because I don’t like it, I’m a fan of beta viewers, but because every fecking second login it seems to think I need an update. This happened before, it’s when it gets installed to the so called wrong folder.

Anyway, that’s not what I’m here to talk about, I’m here to talk about a spiffy new failed teleport message that may lead to confusion. I tried to teleport this evening and saw this:

An Image Should Be Here
Failed Teleport

I ignored this message and teleported somewhere else, but it’s good to see a failed teleport message with more information, but the bigger issue was that the message appeared so very quickly, whereas before I’d see the bar sliding along slowly and know what was coming.

Is the new message more useful? I’m undecided, it’s good that it suggests you may need to logout but, and this is a minor quibble, it might be wise to suggest trying to teleport somewhere else as that often sorts out my teleport issues.

Anyway, it’s good to see a more informative message.

One Reply to “New Failed Teleport Message?”

  1. Why the “support portal” I wonder?
First of all, as near as I can tell there is no such place. If I go to https://support.secondlife.com/?lang=en-US the page is entitled “Second Life Help”.
Second, the only link that would likely help you there is to the Grid Status page which is notoriously uninformative and posted to only after a problem is several hours old.
If you search “teleport failure” at the Help page you will get some resident provided assistance of variable, sometimes dubious value.
They could better have said “Good luck with that, you’re on your own”.
