The creators of Dwarfins, the breedable game, have announced in a blog post that certain items in their store can now be purchased with Dwarfins Gold. The items where Dwarfins Gold is applicable will have a Dwarfins Gold icon on them and when you want to purchase such an item, you will have a choice of purchasing with Dwarfins Gold or Linden Dollars.
To accumulate Dwarfins Gold you will have to return your Dwarfin, which removes it from the world. Any Gold that the returned Dwarfin has acquired whilst mining, or even the default 10 Gold they come with, will then be credited to your Dwarfins account and when you have accumulated enough, you can use this Gold for certain purchases.
Wait, why would you want to return a Dwarfin? Well they get old and when they get old, they can no longer breed, which in a breedables game is an important trait. They are also unable to mine or gain knowledge once they reach age 75, so unless you’re very attached to your Dwarfin, it is worth considering returning them, especially when you consider that even in old age a Dwarfin needs to be fed.
Dwarfins Gold is not on a par with Linden Dollars, each Gold piece is worth less than one Linden Dollar, so you will have to accumulate quite a few in order to take advantage of the Gold options, but it is an option worth considering as your Dwarfins age.
The other thing you may need to consider is that each Dwarfin has a land impact score of eleven, so the more of them you have, the more land impact allowance you require, so you may find yourself wondering what to do and now that the Gold option is here for returning them, there’s a choice to be had that comes with benefits. However please be aware of what returning your Dwarfin entails, it means that the Dwarfin will be permanently removed from the world, so take care when making this choice.
Dwarfins are also starting to appear with rare, rather than common and uncommon traits, so the game is progressing nicely with new traits and new interactions. There are plans afoot to allow Dwarfins to fish, hunt and fight but no firm date has yet been set as to when these skill sets will be available.
Dwarfins have an LI of 11? So they are pathfinding NPCs?
I have never asked whether they are using pathfinding, they interact with objects so it may be set from the website.
It’s probably coincidental, just that pathfinding characters all have a LI of 11.
If it’s not explicit in the merchandising material, then I’d say that’s the case – and PF characters would require the navmesh to be enabled, and that is far from being a given in many regions / residential estates, so could adversely impact sales / reputation.
Had I thought of this first, I wouldn’t have asked. Oh well, sums up the day!
I wonder if it’s related to how characters are built in these circumstances, 11 sounds like an odd number to be consistent, it may be upper and lower joints to help them look like they move in a more realistic manner. I should investigate this!
