Fashion Feed feed.me growing in popularity

I am only affiliated with SL  Universe by participating in their forum and sending the odd snapshot to Snapzilla. Snapzilla has been around for a while and allows you to send pictures from within Second Life to their site, there are also features for sending them onto flickr too. Anyway I’m mentioning this because I’ll be talking about another SL Universe related service.

A while back someone called Tao Takashi had a website that ran blog feeds related to Second Life, it was a bloody useful resource as you’d just go to the feed and see blogs about Second Life, many of which I wasn’t familiar with or hadn’t bookmarked. This was also a much easier way of followng multiple blogs as they were all in one place, you’d end up at the actual blog if you wanted to read everything or comment but as a snapshot it was wonderful.

There were further filters, one of which was a fashion feed, I’ve never been a fashionista so I didn’t bother with this feed but others did and they found it useful, indeed I only knew about a lot of these fashion blogs because of Tao Takashi’s excellent feed of Second Life related blogs.

Yesterday whilst at the SL Universe forums I noticed something about a fashion feed called feed.me, which is fashion related, you can view feed.me here. This is an overview of some fashion blogs but if you read the about page you can see that it is growing in popularity, the archives show that it now has hundreds of updates per month, so some fashionistas have noticed it.

As I said earlier, I’m not a fashionista so I don’t have that much interest in this venture, but I would like to see more Second Life related feeds, a roleplay feed would be nice although I’m not sure there’s enough roleplay blogs to make it worthwhile.

However if you enjoy reading about Second Life fashion, then feed.me is worth a look and if you’re a fashionista with a blog, feed.me is currently offering limited free advertising as part of a testing process for introducing advertising options to the feed itself, you can read about that here.

  1. The FashionPlanet feed @ WorldofSL was indeed a good resource…. until Tao Takashi stopped maintaining it years ago. Back in 2008, after months of being frustrated with FashionPlanet not updating, I created a feed (www.iheartsl.com) mainly for SL fashion blogs, but everything SL-related is welcomed. There’s also about a dozen other feeds out there, and even some that have been around for years that recently closed 🙁 If anyone is interested in a list of ALL the feeds in SL, please check out this site – (http://bloggingsecondlife.wordpress.com/%E2%99%A5-blogs/feeds/)
