Today was also the day on which monies raised by Fantasy Faire 2011 for Relay went over the four million Linden Dollars mark. Below the cut I have some pictures …. yes this could get like showing someone your holiday snaps!
One has to wonder whether Linden Lab have something up their sleeve regarding income streams, because land no longer seems to be flavour of the month. I’m scratching my head trying to figure out what exactly it is that they feel can supplement the tier system for income, I’m not seeing any strong hints anywhere.
The issue of land came up at last night’s community tools user group where people asked whether there would be a land user group, no plans was the answer, no plans to replace Jack’s office hour, which remained the land office hour long after Jack ceased being responsible for land! There is however a land discussion forum, a private one, for the top secret Atlas members but it seems some of them aren’t happy with the forums and they want an estate land for sale section, but Linden Lab seem reluctant to push land lately, which brings me back to wondering what’s going on.
I blame Torley for this …I’m getting into taking photos in Second Life and enjoying it too much, even if the results aren’t great, it’s fun and a great way to record happenings in Second Life. Fantasy Faire 2011 is into day seven now, but day six saw L$510,804 raised bringing the total amount raised to more than USD$14,700.

The aim this year is to raise USD$20,000 overall and it’s looking like a wonderful effort by all so far.
Avatar Physics is now available to try with the new beta viewer. The whole thing seems odd, from Linden Lab displaying a sense of humour, Amanda popping out of the community tools user group meeting to post a blog post and the actual post being signed by Samuel … confused? You will be.
You’ll also want to check out the knowledgebase article before playing around too much, trust me, you’ll want to read this, otherwise your butt will be going up and down like the clappers, it was very un Drow like and extremely distracting I can tell you! I nearly walked straight into a Unicorn!
Luna Barak is well known in roleplaying circles in Second Life, her product lines of Moonstruck and Fantavatar have been seen in many places, so it was a pleasure to be assigned to cover Luna and her presence at Fantasy Faire 2011.
