Modavia Fashion Week has been in full swing, the odd thing about this fashion week is that the region itself doesn’t support Mesh, at all. People who arrive with Mesh clothing or avatars will get an insight on how things look to people on viewers that don’t support Mesh, but it’s a tad disappointing that Mesh has been blocked in this fashion.

Fifty of the best couture designers will present their new autumn collections over 8 days, kicking off with the LaGyo/LG Concept partnership on Sept 8 and culminating in a showcase of emerging talent and a preview of new fall designs from Paper Couture on September 15. Visit in Second Life

I’m a bit bemused as to why this has happened or even how it has happened, but I went there last night to see if it was true and noticed the region settings don’t have the Mesh settings (these Mesh settings don’t work and never will anyway). I also tried to attach a mesh object to my hand to see what happened and noticed it rendered how Mesh does to people who aren’t using a Mesh viewer.

Not having Mesh clothing on display I can understand, after all it’s very new and there are still issues to be ironed out, but not supporting Mesh on the sim at all? That’s just odd.

However for the fashionistas out there, I suggest you go and have a look around Modavia Fashion, it’s a busy event and you may well have trouble getting there but it’s a showcase for fifty of Second Life’s couture designers as well as showcasing new designers, so if fashion is your bag, go and take a look, the lack of Mesh support shouldn’t stop you enjoying the events and displays.
