Sansar Jenn has written a blog post which invites Sansar users to Join Sansar’s Community on Discord :
Today – we’re happy to announce the launch of Sansar’s official Discord community. Discord is a service that lets you chat (text and voice) in real time with other Sansar users, wherever you are – it works on the web, on mobile, and desktop.
Our Discord community is a way to connect with other Sansar users and make friends, plan meet-ups, ask questions, get feedback, share your ideas and creations, and more.
Discord, for those who are not familar, is a text and voice chat application that can be used on the desktop, in a browser, on mobile devices, so it’s a tool for chatting to people whether you’re inworld or not.
Associating your Sansar account with Discord is very straight forward. First you need to login to Sansar and then click the icon in the top right and go to your account :
This will then take you to your account information screen, from there you click Link Discord :
Then you will be presented with information regarding the Sansar Discord community and you can click to join the Sansar Discord Community. Don’t worry if you haven’t got a Discord account yet, you will get the opportunity to create one if you proceed :
Once you have done that (including creating an account if required) you then get the opportunity to authorise Discord :
Now, hopefully all has gone well, in which case you will be told that all has gone well :
Then you can click to to visit the Discord community, where you will see other users, pinned notes etc. A point to note here is that Sansar users are red and the official Sansar team, are blue, so you will see something like this as a list :
There is a FAQ, if you want to know more, this includes important questions, a very glaring one of course being :
What is the benefit of joining the Sansar Discord community?
Discord acts as an extension of our community, allowing you to chat with other Sansar users, make friends, and plan meet-ups in real time. Discord works on the web, a desktop app, and a mobile app, so you can stay connected with the Sansar community wherever you are. Discord keeps you connected with the community, whether you are at home or on the go.
The Sansar Discord community is intended to be a friendly place, so the usual community standards and terms of service that would apply inworld also apply here, so be excellent to each other whilst using this resource.
There’s more to the Discord interface itself than I’ve covered here, for information regarding the Discord user interface I suggest that you go to the Discord Help Centre because you may very well find that you start using Discord for more than the Sansar community.
