Having left one virtual world underwater I arrived at another virtual world underwater! This time I was in Cloud Party, where I discovered beasts, tentacles and a tribe by the name of Tribe Islands, whom have a familiar ring about them.
I first decided to check out the build of one Cloud Party’s main men ….. well in this case main woman, the homeworld of Lilli Thompson. Lilli is the voice of many of Cloud Party’s video tutorials, so I thought I’d get a nice welcome but when I landed I found myself in the belly of a beast!
I arrived in the belly of the beast, which was rather charming.
Being an evil wizard, it was rather easy to get the beast to open its jaws and let me out. However then I found myself faced by more unfriendly creatures:
Charming I thought again, I hadn’t even been here ten minutes and already the head honchos are trying to unleash The Kraken on me. I decided it was best to keep my head down and head for safer climes, which was aided and abetted by spotting a place called Tribe Islands, than name rang a bell.
The familiar name was for a reason, this was a build by Driftwood Miles, one of Tribe Islands head honchos in Second Life. I would imagine Drift was under orders to build some sort of secret bunker with Alexxa Despres sitting in her tower counting the gold as Drift was occupied. Wandering around the build I stumbled into a giant head:
The giant head on the landscape made me think there may be buried treasure so I decided to delve deeper and promptly fell off the edge of the world and down to the world that lay below, which was a world of ghosts and bubbles. Indeed at first glance it looked as if Drift and Alexxa had been captured in a giant bubble!
Hmm I thought, had Lilli Thompson tried to capture me in the belly of the beast and and then unleashed the Kraken upon me after capturing Alexxa Despres and Driftwood Miles in a bubble? However on closer inspection I realised these were models of Drift and Alexxa, which I should have known because there’s no way Alexxa would stay still long enough to get caught!
The ghosts you see were inspired by the great fear in Drift’s mind after the start David Moyes has made to being the new manager of Manchester United.
Cloud Party is much improved since my last visit. The experience was smooth, the building tools are powerful, they already have materials and mesh. My stay was brief so I can’t go too deep into my experience but this is a fun looking place with lots of potential.
