Word reached me on Twitter, via a whisper, or more a shout, nudge and slight kick from the good people at the Bay City Post, Xiola Linden is changing her address!<\/a><\/p>\n

“Nooooooo” was my initial response, not Xiola, AKA Sansar Jenn, AKA the artist formerly known as Lexie and maybe known as Lexie in the future. Leaving the Lab? Xiola?<\/p>\n

\"Xiola<\/a><\/p>\n

Confirmation of the news was confirmed in the latest edition of Lab Gab<\/a> with Strawberry talking to a clearly emotional Xiola about changing address after eight glorious years at Linden Lab.<\/p>\n

\"Xiola<\/a><\/p>\n

This could mean only one thing, I would have to break my blogging hiatus and pay tribute to the work Xiola has done for the virtual world communities she has been a very active and enthusiastic part of.<\/p>\n

\"Jenn<\/a><\/p>\n

When I interviewed Xiola back in 2015<\/a> she told me that she had joined Linden Lab in 2011, but had been a resident in Second Life since 2006 after a conversation on Livejournal pointed her in the direction of Second Life.<\/p>\n

\"Sansar<\/a><\/p>\n

Xiola also informed me she was a big fan of music, reading, writing, cooking, video games, retro and more. Xiola isn’t perfect of course, she puts celery in her tuna salad and still owes me a tuna fish sandwich, but these are small quibbles.<\/p>\n

\"Sansar<\/a><\/p>\n

Xiola has been an extremely community oriented community leader. Xiola talks extremely well, participates in activities, events and shopping.<\/p>\n

\"Xiola<\/a><\/p>\n

Xiola, who grew up in the world of the exciting march of Silicon Valley will be a loss to the Second Life community and sorely missed by many.<\/p>\n

\"Xiola<\/a><\/p>\n

Xiola’s last day at the lab is scheduled to be January 3rd but you can shoot snowballs at her today, Friday December 20th at the annual Lindens v residents snowball fight<\/a>. The snowball shenanigans will also be live streamed<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Alas I am unlikely to appear as I have a prior engagement with break up from work for Christmas and hit the pub day, but for those who don’t have prior engagements, go and wish Xiola all the best in her future endeavors.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
