Fantasy Faire have embraced a literary festival over the last few years and this year is no exception as Litfest<\/a> returns.<\/p>\n

Litfest involves talking about books, creative writing, readings, performances, tours, talks with authors and more.<\/p>\n

\"Author<\/a><\/p>\n

Last year double hugo nominee Seanan McGuire visited Fantasy Faire, this year another two authors will be visiting.<\/p>\n

On Tuesday April 24th\u00a0Tom Lloyd<\/a>,\u00a0 author of the Twilight Reign series of novels will be in conversation with David Abbot and on Thursday April 26th Danie Ware<\/a>,\u00a0Author of the Ecko series will be in conversation with the very same David Abbot.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

On top of that Litfest has traditionally paid homage to an author, in the past Terry Pratchett, William Shakespeare and JRR Tolkien have been honoured. This year they are sticking to the RR theme with George RR Martin day.<\/a><\/p>\n

\"Hall<\/a><\/p>\n

George RR Martin is not scheduled to visit, even though on his not a blog Livejournal back in 2007<\/a> he did note that he had been to Sheep Island in Second Life to do a book reading at Bantam’s virtual bookstore and he was impressed that in Second Life Tyrion Lannister had the ability to fly.<\/p>\n

There’s a youTube video<\/a> of part of this event which you can watch if you want to, it’s only around five minutes long but still very interesting.<\/p>\n

9:30 \u2013 10:30 AM SLT: LitFest: The World of Ice and Fire \u2013 Freyja Nemeth & Ran Garrigus<\/strong><\/p>\n

Linda Antonsson and Elio M. Garc\u00eda, the\u00a0owners of Westeros.org<\/a>\u00a0 fansite know a thing or two about the world George R.R. Martin has created. They are also the co-authors of the \u201cThe World of Ice and Fire\u201d together with George R.R. Martin.<\/p>\n

11 AM \u2013 1 PM SLT: Game of Thrones Party with DJ Vasa Vella<\/strong><\/p>\n

3PM \u2013 4PM SLT: A Game of Thrones: A Question of Media<\/strong><\/p>\n

Saffia Widdershins will lead a discussion on the different forms of media that Game of Thrones has embraced and how well it works in those different formats.<\/p>\n

7 \u2013 8 PM SlT: LitFest: A Selected View \u2013 George R.R. Martin<\/strong><\/p>\n

Aoife Lorefield of\u00a0Seanchai Library will take a look at the work of George R.R. Martin beyond Game of Thrones.<\/p>\n

Litfest will be based in the Halls of Story<\/a> region but will venture all over The Fairelands during the event.<\/p>\n
