\"Liftoff\"<\/a><\/p>\n

The NASA Appollo Museum<\/a> in Linden Lab’s Sansar<\/a> was the setting for a virtual world \/ virtual reality gathering to watch the launch of Falcon 9 as part of the SpaceX<\/a> Govesat-1 mission.<\/p>\n

\"Watching<\/a><\/p>\n

The blurb from the SpaceX website informed us :<\/p>\n

SpaceX is now targeting launch of the GovSat-1 satellite to a Geostationary Transfer Orbit (GTO) from Space Launch Complex 40 (SLC-40) at Cape Canaveral Air Force Station, Florida on Wednesday, January 31, at 4:25 p.m. EST, or 21:25 UTC. The satellite will deploy approximately 32 minutes after launch.<\/em><\/p>\n

Falcon 9\u2019s first stage for the GovSat-1 mission previously supported the NROL-76 mission from LC-39A in May 2017. SpaceX will not attempt to recover Falcon 9\u2019s first stage after launch.<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

A fairly healthy sized crowd gathered to watch the liftoff, with the live webcast playing on a screen inside the museum and we got some pretty good views of the action.<\/p>\n

\"Falcon<\/a><\/p>\n

Despite some scary looking images, everything seemed to go to plan and we could hear the applause on the webcast from those closer to the mission.<\/p>\n

\"Torley<\/a><\/p>\n

Lindens were in attendance, Sansar Jenn (as she is known in Sansar circles) and Torley (as he is known in pretty much all circles) were in early attendance.<\/p>\n

\"Strawberry<\/a><\/p>\n

Strawberry Singh<\/a>\u00a0was amongst the crowd. Strawberry wears her name on her sleeve in Sansar. I can only assume that this is so that when she’s dancing at the disco bumper to bumper that she doesn’t end up exclaiming “Wait a minute, where’s me jumper?<\/a>”<\/p>\n

Strawberry also live streamed the event<\/a>, so you can get a better view of matters by following the link to the stream.<\/p>\n

\"Ebbe<\/a><\/p>\n

Linden Lab CEO Ebbe Altberg made an appearance later in the event, sporting a stripey T-Shirt and a modern haircut.<\/p>\n

\"Audience<\/a><\/p>\n

The event also exemplified the fact that Sansar is getting a fashion makeover as there were many weird and wonderful avatars in attendance.<\/p>\n

\"Ravioli<\/a><\/p>\n
