On the newly revamped, rather funky Second Life community website<\/a> Xiola Linden has posted a blog :\u00a0One Last Friendly Battle Before the Snow Melts!<\/a> This involves a trip to Winter Wonderland in Second Life, which is coming to the end of its seasonal run.<\/p>\n

Xiola throws down the gauntlet for the snowball battle scheduled for tomorrow, Friday March 17th between 9am-10am SLT and a further skirmish between 13:00 – 14:00 SLT:<\/p>\n

Join us this Friday, March 17th from 9:00 to 10:00 AM SLT and 1:00 to 2:00 PM SLT – to enjoy the thrill of the chill and the fun of pummelling one another with tons of virtual snowballs!<\/em><\/p>\n

Lindens and Residents run amok through the icy castle towers and tunnels, the sky pours snowballs, and the good times roll!<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

To join in the fun you will need to make your way to Portal Park<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Portal Park is the hub from which many Linden created destinations can be reached, so even if you’re not interested in the snowball fight, you may find something else of interest there.<\/p>\n

On the other hand, if you do want to join in the fun, or even just visit Winter Wonderland this year before it is removed, then once you are in Portal Park all you need to do is go through the entrance marked “Winter Wonderland”.<\/p>\n

Once you reach the snowy setting you can head towards the Snowball arena, which is clearly marked, although it should be added you do go up many steps, then down many steps, then round a bit of a bend, but eventually you will find yourself in the snowball arena.<\/p>\n

The snowball arena is also where you can find weapons of choice, including a snow rifle or a snow pistol.<\/p>\n

Now it should be pointed out that this is a snowball fight with the Lindens, not against the Lindens, if you’ve never been to one of these events before then you may want to read my report from February 2015 :\u00a0Dispatches From The Snowball Warzone \u2013 A Snowball Fight With The Lindens.<\/a><\/p>\n

Personally I would suggest new battle plans for this, I’ve been watching 1066 : A Year to Conquer England<\/a> on the BBC and the key to winning a battle is to abandon the shield wall defence system favoured by the vikings and instead go for a cavalry charge, with lots of running away to lull the opposition into a false sense of confidence.<\/p>\n

Alternatively, just have fun and come up with your own battle plan!<\/p>\n

Snowball Fight<\/h1>\n

Grab your mittens and get ready for one more Snowball Fight before the snow melts at Winter Wonderland! Get your snowball-slinging weapons at the arena and duke it out on the ice with your friends. Event held March 17 from 9-10 a.m. and 1-2 p.m. (Pacific).<\/p>\n
