Episode 39 of The Drax Files: World Makers<\/a> introduces us to Sergio Delacruz and Delacruz Park. I’ll embed the video at the end of the post.<\/p>\n

Sergio hails from the Italian island of Sicily and is a content creator who creates experiences within Second Life. His latest example being the multiplayer inworld game Susan’s Diary<\/a>. The blurb for Susan’s Diary informs us :<\/p>\n

Susan’s diary is a creepy horror game where you must find the lost pages of an old diary in a haunted house and find what happened to little Susan. Visit rooms, secret passages and solve puzzles to reach the end of this experience.<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

I am not in a position to comment on the game as I haven’t played it. Games and experiences are an under reported aspect of Second Life, so I did enjoy this episode.
\n\"Delacruz<\/a><\/p>\n

Sergio has embraced content creation in Second Life in a very large way, he creates and scripts everything for his projects.<\/p>\n

\"Fair\"<\/a><\/p>\n

However this doesn’t mean that Sergio doesn’t appreciate collaboration or shared content. Sergio informs us that he learnt how to build in sandboxes and studied free scripts to help him learn how to script.<\/p>\n

Sandboxes are a resource in Second Life that don’t get anywhere near the attention or thanks they really deserve. They allow you to build and learn alone if you want but you’ll often find people happy to share tips with you at Sandboxes too.<\/p>\n

\"Nightmar\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Sergio also raises a point that I’ve raised myself, learning to create in Second Life teaches you skills that you can take to other platforms and learn how to create in those platforms. Sergio points out that Second Life provided him with the foundation to learn other programming languages that can be used on other platforms.<\/p>\n

However don’t take this to mean that Sergio is leaving Second Life behind, Second Life is still his favourite platform. The bonds are strong with this virtual world.<\/p>\n

\"Susan's<\/a><\/p>\n

Draxtor raises a very important question with Sergio, as a recently married man and with a full time job, where on earth does he find the time to create in Second Life? The answer may shock some, Sergio doesn’t watch television.<\/p>\n

Sergio speaks excellent English but there is something that must have been lost in translation because Sergio claims he doesn’t watch football on television either. I can’t parse not watching football on television, I’m not sure such an expression exists in English!<\/p>\n

This is another excellent episode in which Sergio does most of the talking and Drax provides music, excellent visuals and puts it all together to make an engaging episode.<\/p>\n

At around three and a half minutes, it’s well worth taking the time to watch it.<\/p>\n
