The reasons for the closure are outlined in the post. The people have long since disappeared, but the automatons remained and still take care of the crumbling stone walls, abandoned halls and rusty fences.<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The automations generally did not quite come to life, but they still look great and the region is wonderfully atmospheric.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><a title=\"Boat, by Ciaran Laval on Flickr\" href=\"https:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/ciaran_laval\/20652956552\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/farm1.staticflickr.com\/606\/20652956552_50a2c66596.jpg?resize=500%2C294&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"Boat\" width=\"500\" height=\"294\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>There&#8217;s plenty to do and see in the region and the notecard you are offered on arrival is well worth accepting because some of the attractions are in the sky.
