The 1920’s Berlin Project in Second Life is a roleplaying region that takes its history seriously. The year is 1929, Germany is a republic and you get to see an authentic representation of Berlin of that era.<\/p>\n

To enable authenticity, Frau Yardley<\/a> enforces a strict dress code. Now don’t worry, for two reasons. The first reason is that there are freebie clothing outfits at the landing point to enable you to visit without looking out of place. The second reason is that today, June 3rd 2015, is relaxed rules day in 1920’s Berlin<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\"Police<\/a><\/p>\n

What does relaxed rules day mean? Well it means this :<\/p>\n

As you may know, Berlin has a dress code, we ask all our visitors to look realistic and authentic for the theme of our sim.<\/em>
\nBut now and then we decide to relax these rules to give new people a chance to explore our sim even if they don\u2019t feel like dressing up or having a realistic avatar.<\/em><\/p>\n

So, on Relaxed Rules Day we will NOT be asking people to dress in the 1920s style and we will be welcoming avatars such as furries, tinies, demons, fantasy animals, etc.<\/em>
\nThe only rules we will be enforcing are that we will not accept public nudity or Nazi related behaviour and dress.<\/em>
\nOf course anyone bothering or harassing people will also be send home.<\/em><\/p>\n

This may be a good day to show Berlin to your friends who have not been here before and may feel a bit intimidated by our rules or roleplay.<\/em><\/p>\n

We will also allow flying on this day so you can see the city from a whole new angle.<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

This therefore means that as a Dwarfin King I was able to roam the streets of 1920’s Berlin in my full regal attire, therefore earning the respect I deserve from these humans.<\/p>\n

\"Relaxing<\/a><\/p>\n

Obviously I have taken full advantage of this and done the whole tourist thing by taking plenty of snapshots.<\/p>\n

\"Hailing<\/a><\/p>\n

Now if you have never been to 1920’s Berlin in Second Life before today is certainly a good day to explore. However be warned, all is not as it normally would be, there are some oddities around. However you can find taxis.<\/p>\n

\"Buying<\/a><\/p>\n

You can visit the newspaper stand and talk to the man in the kiosk, he may look asleep but I swear he kept a very close eye on me.<\/p>\n

\"Cafe<\/a><\/p>\n

Take advantage of the cafes, there’s more than one and there’s a Hotel with a fine restaurant too. Now being a Dwarfin, food and drink are very important and although 1920’s Berlin does not stock fine Dwarfin Mead, it does provide fine dining facilities.<\/p>\n

If you’re a Human, you may even want to phone friends at home. Dwarfins don’t have phones, so I took the opportunity to pose in the afternoon sun here and observe 1929 Berlin life.<\/p>\n

\"Time<\/a><\/p>\n

As I said, there are some oddities today and one that I observed was someone with a tag of Herr Doktor, in middle ages attire, riding a unicorn and observing a TARDIS. Herr Dotkor was not the owner of this TARDIS and there was another TARDIS not far away. Only in Second Life!<\/p>\n

Relaxed rules day is part of the 1920’s Berlin project sixth anniversary celebrations, there’s plenty more going on too. Today is definitely a good day to visit.<\/p>\n
