Linden Lab seem to have decided to embrace communities and community spirit again, as well as embracing the concept of Second Life being a user created world, both moves are welcome.<\/p>\n
Hamlet Au over at New World Notes reports <\/a>that the tagline “Your World, Your Imagination<\/em>” is back on Second Life marketing images. This is long overdue, this was a perfect tagline for Second Life and I’m really not sure why Linden Lab appeared to move away from it.<\/p>\n Meanwhile in the official General Discussion forum<\/a> Linden Lab have unleashed three posts about community, friendship and interactions.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n There are, as I pointed out above, three stickied posts:<\/p>\n Have you had someone in world who has made you laugh or been there for you just when you needed it the most?<\/a><\/p>\n Have you found a sense of community in Second Life that has enriched your life?<\/a><\/p>\n What are some of the nicest Second Life compliments you\u2019ve ever received?<\/a><\/p>\n Linden Lab community manager asks people to share their experiences with the rest of us in those threads, I’m assuming Linden Lab community manager is related to CommerceTeam Linden, a\u00a0 new breed of Linden account whom has a secret Wizard of Oz behind the curtain, but it’s better than no engagement at all.<\/p>\n These moves seem to be a step in the right direction and\u00a0there are resident\u00a0blog features, such as the current gratitude guest blogger series<\/a>, prior to that there were a number of residents being featured on the official blog such as for Halloween, Fashion and most recently, inworld games<\/a>. I do have a small complaint about the blogs, I wish they’d tag them consistently so I can easily link to all the gaming blogs, Halloween blogs, Fashion blogs etc. but that’s a small gripe.<\/p>\n
