Whilst reading the epic JLU thread over at SLUniverse, with one eye open because it’s such a busy thread, my skim reading found its way to a conversation about Rod Humble (Linden Lab CEO), where someone thought Mr Humble created The Sims, however Stroker Serpentine corrected this person<\/a>, pointing out that Will Wright created The Sims, and also pointing out that Will Wright is on the Linden Lab board of directors <\/a>….. WAIT! When did this happen?<\/p>\n

Now I don’t know what the board of directors do, obviously some important stuff, possibly in the super secret hidden bunker of Linden World, but more likely in an office or the odd email or telephone call, the real impetus behind Second Life is from the management and staff, we don’t hear much at all from the board of directors, but they must do something!<\/p>\n

This is Will Wright of Sim City fame, Will Wright of Spore fame, Will Wright Game God! I’d love to see him in a more active role but I’m sure he’s a busy man but that’s one person whom I’ve wanted to see involved in some capacity for quite a few years, indeed I made a tongue in cheek wishlist of appointments back in March when Linden Lab appointed Bagman<\/a>.<\/p>\n

However, for all I know, because I don’t get news from Linden Lab insiders, Will Wright may no longer be on the board of directors, or it may be a role that is very far away and hands off, however it’s an interesting development no matter how you look at it.<\/p>\n

So it’s time to revisit my wishlist, they still need Ron Gilbert, Matthew Smith, The Bitmap Brothers, The original Ultimate Play The Game Team, Robin Harper and Jeff Minter, on which point, I didn’t realise Llamasoft <\/a>was still going!<\/p>\n
