A Visit To Storybrooke Gardens and a Winter’s Tale

Castle

The latest Linden Lab blog post of Highlights From The Destination Guide is full of interesting places. I was, not surprisingly,  quite taken with Storybrooke Gardens and a Winter’s Tale, being as it is described as taking you into the pages of a classic fantasy storybook. I wasn’t disappointed.

Ice Skating

Lauren Bentham has created a magically atmospheric setting here that blends winter, castles and glowing warmth in parts with a more sunny but no less fantastical green setting.

One Last Friendly Snowball Battle At Winter Wonderland

Snow Rifle

On the newly revamped, rather funky Second Life community website Xiola Linden has posted a blog : One Last Friendly Battle Before the Snow Melts! This involves a trip to Winter Wonderland in Second Life, which is coming to the end of its seasonal run.

Xiola throws down the gauntlet for the snowball battle scheduled for tomorrow, Friday March 17th between 9am-10am SLT and a further skirmish between 13:00 – 14:00 SLT:

Join us this Friday, March 17th from 9:00 to 10:00 AM SLT and 1:00 to 2:00 PM SLT – to enjoy the thrill of the chill and the fun of pummelling one another with tons of virtual snowballs!

Lindens and Residents run amok through the icy castle towers and tunnels, the sky pours snowballs, and the good times roll!

To join in the fun you will need to make your way to Portal Park.

Portal Park

Portal Park is the hub from which many Linden created destinations can be reached, so even if you’re not interested in the snowball fight, you may find something else of interest there.

A Visit To Berg By Nordan Art In Second Life

Berg By Nordan Art

Art in Second Life still seems to be thriving, as can be seen from the arts category of the destination guide. Berg by Nordan Art caught my eye whilst browsing the destination guide and I decided to pay a visit.

Berg By Nordan Exhibitions

Berg by Nordan Art is owned and curated by Kate Bergdorf. The gallery  is actually a number of galleries and sim space, making good use of the lack of physical constraints in a virtual world by using the sky and ground.

Entrance

On the ground you will currently find Penumbra by Meilo Minotaur and CapCat Ragu. Visitors are advised to set their region windlight to London 2026 and turn their sound up. This is because this is a visual and audio exhibition and the audio definitely adds to the atmospheric setting.

Fantasy Faire 2017 – The Press Release

Image Should be Here

The greatest event in the Second Life calendar draws closer , yes Fantasy Faire 2017 is on the horizon.  Posters for this year’s event are available from the website and can be used in blog posts about the event, but please try and keep the aspect ratio.

Fantasy Faire 2017 is part of the Relay For Life in Second Life efforts to raise money for the American Cancer Society.  Last year’s event raised L$7,716,664 (US$ 30,867).

This year’s event, which as usual won’t be anywhere long enough, will run April 20 – 30.

This post is a relatively easy for me because I’m just going to post the press release! You’ll find that below the cut, unless you’re already below the cut of course!
