Oskar’s Test Regions Go Offline

In her latest region report Tyche “Statto” Shepherd informs us that forty eight regions have gone offline this week, which does suggest that last week’s decline of just nine regions was an outlier. However the figure of forty eight regions is bloated due to twenty five of these regions being Linden owned, which means we’ve lost twenty three private regions.

Matters are further complicated by two Linden regions coming online somewhere … I think, because twenty seven Linden regions have vanished from the grid in the shape and form of eleven Corndog RC regions and sixteen Oatmeal regions, so that’s twenty seven, so two Linden regions have appeared or came back on to the grid, it would seem.

The eleven Corndog RC regions were directly owned by Oskar and the sixteen Oatmeal regions were originally brought online for region maturity rating testing by Oskar, Tyche informs us. When I say the eleven Corndog RC regions were directly owned by Oskar this means he was named as the owner, I don’t mean he was paying for them himself.

Round And Round The Garden

I was handed a bloggers pack for The Garden, I beg your pardon, thought I, but thought I’d take a look anyway. The Garden is an interactive puzzle game brought to Second Life by Grace McDunnough, Trav Rexen and Salome Strangelove.

The basic aim of the game is to collect clues from Guardians and Artifacts and work out what sins they were guilty of and what penance they served for it. This sounds more complicated written down than it actually is, you get a Hud with which you can elimiate certain guardians from sins and penance until you’re left with the only suitable answers, well as long as you’ve paid attention to the clues that is!

This Jira Message Is Wrong!

Jira No Entry

This the message one sees when they try and look at someone else’s bug report in the new and improved Jira. There is of course temptation to contact the Jira administrators that this message is wrong, and surely they know it’s wrong, it’s certainly wrong headed, but as it’s an intended consequence of Jira 2 – Electric Boogaloo, complaints are likely to fall on deaf ears.

There’s a thread over on the official forum, entitled : New Jira System Worhless. The new Jira system is not worthless, it’s a big backward step for end users who were used to the old Jira system, worthless is too strong, it’s just a bit rubbish for those who knew how to search the Jira and look for results. Howevere there are many valid points within that thread.

Third Second Life Science Fiction Faire Is Open

scifi3

I’m not big on the Science Fiction scene in Second Life, indeed most of what I read is to do with copyright issues, such as Battlestar Galactica and Star Trek. However there is a thriving roleplaying scene for Science Fiction in Second Life and to exemplify this, we have the third Science Fiction Faire, which is open now. Like some of the other and arguably better known faires in Second Life, the Science Fiction faire is also a charity event, associated with the American Cancer Society and Relay For Life. The region being used for the faire actually neighbours the ACS main Island.
