Take A Five Hour Creepy Crawl Tour With The Lindens On October 30th

Pumpkin Town

Xiola Linden has urged people to get their costumes ready and join some Lindens on a five hour creepy crawl tour on Friday October 30th. In the linked blog post Xiola says :

It’s creepy, and kooky and you don’t want to miss it!

This Friday, October 30th from 10:00am SLT until 3:00pm SLT – you are most cordially invited to join us inworld for the 2015 Second Life Creepy Crawl! “What is the Creepy Crawl?” you may ask. It’s a scary-good inworld event where Lindens and Residents get dressed up in their best Halloween costumes and roam from spooky spot to spooky spot for music, dancing, and celebrating! It’s going to be a bit like a ‘pub crawl’ without the need for taxi fare.

Costumes are strongly encouraged for this event – some come out and show off your best. I am still deciding between 4 different costume choices I’ve put together and may have to wear all 4 at some point during the crawl. It’s a good thing we’ll have 5 hours to run amok and have fantastical fun. Just keep in mind that this event is for General and Moderate audiences when perfecting your look.

Xiola is a lady of many outfits it should be pointed out. However Xiola won’t be the only Linden on the tour, although the names of the others have so far been kept under wraps there’s a good chance you’ll get to see Lindens inworld, yes they really do make inworld appearances.

Second Life Prepares To Get Spooky

Converstation

I’m back from sunnier climes and straight into British Autumn, which today has been rather pleasant. I’ve survived the horror of learning that the Balearic Islands are planning to impose a quite frankly barmy tourist tax next year, which will only encourage another modern horror on the Islands, all inclusive holidays. Seriously, there’s no need for all inclusive holidays in the Balearics. The drunken debauchery is horrendous, and this is coming from someone who is no stranger to drunken debauchery, but there’s a thing such as moderation which all inclusive completely ignores.

I’ve also survived the horrors of the queues and prices of refreshments at Palma airport. However this was all balanced out by sun, sea, beautiful walks and very friendly locals who made my visit very enjoyable.

Now as I prepare to recover from my holiday excess I note that Second Life is preparing to get spooky. The Destination Guide has a haunted category where you can keep an eye on spooky destinations and Linden Lab are joining in the fun with a creepy crawl and a photo contest.

The creepy crawl call to arms went out on october 6th with a blog post from Xiola Linden; Second Life Creepy Crawl 2015 – Call for Venues. Alas entries had to be in before October 20th. Those who have applied to be a host venue should hear back from Linden Lab in the next few days, the plan is :

A-haunting we will go! This year we’re going to take inworld meetups and Halloween shenanigans and mix them together for a frightful mashup of mind-blowingly fun times.

The Creepy Crawl will be taking place on October 30th – more details to follow for those who just want to come along for the fun!

So keep your eyes peeled on the offical Second Life blog for more details. However don’t worry if you’re not part of the creepy crawl, there’s a photo contest that is still running and you have until November 12th to take part in this contest.

Horror In Raglan Shire!

Raglan Shire Graveyard

One of Second Life’s more serene locations is Raglan Shire. Home of the tinies, a place where you imagine birds singing, workers singing, animals singing, sun shining, a place of general happiness. However not during October, during October Raglan Shire celebrates Shocktober and a shocking experience it is indeed.

We’re talking zombies roaming the streets here, yes, in Raglan Shire! You still spot a few tinies around, and they do seem to be merry, but there are strange happenings afoot here with ghosts floating around and a very worrying fog enveloping you.

Have Yourself A Merry Little Halloween

Halloween in Second Life has always been a popular time of year and this year is no exception. Whereas many of you will already have plans for parties events and such like, the Second Life Destination Guide will also help you to find some gems which will be around for a few days at least, after the event.

Linden Lab have added a new attraction to their impressive Portal Park, a Haunted Halloween Tour.

Haunted Halloween Tour

What will you do this Halloween? Help children with a sugar fix? Buy overpriced masks from big-box stores? Do something different, something frightening and fun. Linden Lab is proud to present the Haunted Halloween Tour. Strap in and prepare to experience haunts, ghouls, death, scares, and a descent through madness itself. It’s definitely not for the faint of heart!

Visit in Second Life

This is an attraction that takes advantage once more of the experience tools and allows you to ride a coffin up to the house and get spooked with shadowy figures appearing in the windows and much more.

Linden Lab Get Ready For Halloween

First of all, get well soon Lexie Linden. Linden Lab are gearing up for Halloween, with a series of new destination guide locations, new forum areas and blog posts. They started off with the graveyard smash with a series of posts about Zombies, one about Zombie games in Second Life and then they moved onto a post about Zombie community conversations ….There’s also a destination guide section just for Zombies!

Zombie Apocalypse – Bloodbath & Beyond

The Zombie Apocalypse is fun for the whole family — if your idea of fun is fighting for your life against zombies that have taken over the city and are terrorizing everyone. Come help save the day and kill the zombies before it’s too late. Get your free combat HUD and join interactive quests to fight zombies alone or with friends.

Visit in Second Life

However Linden Lab, who have been known in the past to scare the living daylights out of residents at this time of year with tier price rises weren’t satisfied with Zombies eating our brains, they quickly moved into more familiar territory by opening a Vampire forum! Garlic necklace at the ready I poked my head in and found complaints, show your vamp look,  Lycans wanting to know where they should go and a request from Linden Lab for Vampire inspired machinima. There hasn’t been a spampire in sight so far!
