Over 100 of the best stores in SL have gotten together to help support a very worthy cause, Relay for Life! Each one of these wonderful people are donating some amazing items – first seen here at the Expo – to help fight for a cure for Cancer! Below you will see the incredible items they have chosen to sell with 100% of the proceeds going to RFL (most at prices that are beyond belief!!).  Come on down to the expo, the items listed below are a very small sample of the stunning items you will see.

This is UrbanizeD’s second year at the SL Home & Garden Expo. Creator, Pitsch Parx, is grateful to have the chance to be part of this great initiative.

This expo is THE best platform any designer could want for his work and coupled with the great cause it supports, it is BI winning!

UrbanizeD was created on Valentines Day 2009, on the Deizha estate. A spur of the moment decision of Pitschs’ to take his RL, creative background and unleash it on SL. What started out as rental homes, quickly changed into landscaping and designing furniture. To bring the rentals up to the standard Pitsch had in mind he has had to continually keep learning to create that what SL had not previously offered. This evolution continues still, to this day. Every collection shows progress on all sides of the process – textures, animations, and shapes. Raising the bar is part of what UrbanizeD exceeds at. The SL grid is turning purple!

From May 7 to May 13 the Second Life grid will be turning purple!

Thousands of Second Life residents will be painting their stores and houses purple, wearing purple clothes, purple hair, even purple skin, in order to show their support for the Relay For Life of Second Life and to spread a purple Message of Hope.

Relay For Life® is the signature fundraiser of the American Cancer Society. Relay For Life of Second Life (RFL of SL) is an annual activity that takes place in Second Life® in July each year. Volunteers form or join teams to have fun while fundraising and raising awareness from mid-March through mid-July. In July teams build campsites and walk a track, just like in a real world Relay. In support of Relay For Life

There are some very exciting events about to take place, so be ready to get excited!

This year marks the 4th anniversary of the Home & Garden Expo benefiting Relay For Life of Second Life. 2011′s Expo, will open on Friday, May 13th at NOON, and will remain open 24 hours each day until it closes on May 22nd at 10pm SLT . This year’s extravaganza will span TEN Second Life sims, with over 100 exhibits, more Entertainment and more ways to benefit Relay For Life, too!

The expo will cover all areas of home and land decor in SL. It gathers together many of SL’s greatest architects, furniture makers, gardeners and landscapers, some well-known and some not so well-known, in a grand display to Second Life shoppers and visitors.

There will be ten days of musical entertainment, including both DJ’s and Live Musicians at the Stage Area of the Expo. Builder’s Brewery will host this year’s Expo Classroom with lots of fun classes and a competition or two.

Each Exhibitor will be selling two items which make their debut at the Expo and those sales will go to benefit Relay For Life, along with all proceeds from this year’s, always popular Scavenger Hunt, Auction and Raffle.

Pre Fabulous began in 2006 when Fornicola Butuzova and Amo Lambeau began creating buildings they sold, to earn spending money to support their shopping and partying habits in Second Life. Sale by sale their business grew until 2009 when they both decided that it was time to go full time and create homes, stores, and other buildings in Second Life for a living.

Pre Fabulous does not follow the “Features and Fashion” way of thinking about building in SL, they rather take a more narrative approach to serving the needs of Second Life residents. Their belief is that people come to Second Life to realize fantasies or express some other ideal of themselves. If they want to fall in love in a tropical paradise, be the toast of the Manhattan skyline, or the Lord of a mighty kingdom, whatever their dream maybe they need help.

Rather than chase trends, Forni and Amo, focused on helping Second Life players tell their story. They created buildings that have a reason for existing, buildings that convey an emotional connection to the story their customers want to tell. One of their core beliefs is “A house is made of bricks… A home is made of cracks”. It is the cracks that tell the story of a house that say something about why it is there, who lived there, of the experiences that were shared, between its walls.
