Yuri’s Night Coming To Second Life And Kitely

Yuri's Night

On April 12th 1961 Yuri Gagarin, a Russian Cosmonaut, took the spacecraft Vostok into Outer Space. Twenty years later, April 12th 1981, NASA’s first Space Shuttle was launched. Celebrations of these events take many shapes and forms.

Yuri’s Night is very much part of those celebrations and even goes boldly into virtual worlds, Second Life and Kitely are two virtual worlds you should be familiar with.

Our 2×2 region offers us twice the space of our facilities in SL, and we have a number of exhibits on display here already. Performances and tours. Hypergrid accessible at hop://grid.kitely.com:8002:ISMuseum

Please note that you can visit part of the International Spaceflight Museum in Kitely right now, by going to grid.kitely.com:8002:ISM2

The Hypergrid accessible address for the party on April 21st is currently restricted access.

If you have never been to Kitely or Opensim then there’s a handy guide for how to enter Kitely virtual worlds here :  https://kitely.atlassian.net/wiki/display/doc/How+to+Enter+Kitely+Virtual+Worlds

You will need to have an account, but they are free to create and if you’re using a viewer such as the Firestorm Opensim Viewer then it’s extremely easy to select a different grid to login to.

Most of all though, if you do attend these events, have a lot of fun!
