Fantasy Faire 2016 Wants DJ’s, Writers, Artists & Bloggers But The Clock Is Ticking

One of the cool things about The Fantasy Faire team is that they provide all these banners for you to publish (but please keep the aspect ratio), which is nice. Anyway, more importantly, Fantasy Faire 2016 have published posts asking for applications from artists, writers, DJ’s and bloggers for this year’s event, but the clock is ticking on applications.

During Fantasy Faire they have, Fantasy Faire Radio and recently they asked for Songweavers to apply for this year’s event :

Do you want to join the Sound of the Fairelands, be one of the voices weaving songs together to conjure audible magic? This is your chance!

In the link you will find an application form with further details, important details they are too, so if you are interested in being a DJ, read the application form in full.

Next up comes what I personally found a brilliant addition for last year’s event, Words of Power :

Are you a weaver of enchanting words, a reader of spellbinding poetry or prose? Dio you have thoughts or ideas about your favourite fantasy novels or writers that you would like to share? Would you like to lead a workshop that creates amazing shared fantasy tales?

Then we need you on our quest to create narrative and story events.

Last year people shared stories, poetry, discussed novels and much more. There’s an application form for this too but this is an area where the clock is very much ticking as applications need to be in by March 31st (that’s tomorrow).

Then we move on to bloggers, with applications open for those who want to be official bloggers at this year’s event :

Every year we welcome almost a hundred bloggers into the early access to the Fairelands, to photograph and capture their beauty when they are still pristine and free from the Lag Monster. This year is no exception.

The Fairelands are wrapped in magic, and we wish to see photographers and writers embracing this spirit: embracing and sharing it with the rest of the world. Eleven days fly by every year too fast and so it is extremely important to spread the word, to invite people to come and enjoy the Faire while they still can.

Those days really do fly by! Blogging Fantasy Faire can be as busy or light as you wish, you don’t have to take assignments these days and you can do photos only if you wish. There are also blogger challenges that you can take part in.

There’s also no requirement to be an official blogger if you want to blog Fantasy Faire, so if you find the application process a bit of a turn off, do not worry, you can still blog and take part in the blogger challenges if you wish.

Then we come to the artists, or more to the point an Invitation To The Imagination, Fantasy Art In The Faire :

This year the gallery will emerge in the Arts and Entertainment sim built by Haveit Neox. We are planning to have more artists than ever before, and we are asking for help in finding more Second Life fantasy artists!

We are looking for — in all its simplicity — fantasy art for Fantasy Faire. We are not interested in any other forms of art, this is FANTASY Faire. We are looking for Second Life pictures that look like illustrations for fantasy novels, pictures that inspire imagination, pictures that tell a story.

There are far more details in the link but one thing to bear in mind is that this is a PG rated event and therefore art will also have to be PG rated. I know that plenty of Fantasy art can be stunning in a more mature form, but that sort of art is not for this event, although if you do publish more mature art, don’t be shy on participating if you have art that does meet the PG rating as well.

Magical Dwarfins

Fantasy Faire in Second Life is in my extremely biased opinion, the best event of the year. This year it runs from April 21st – May 1st and I’ll post plenty more about the Faire before, during and probably after the event.

Fantasy Faire is also part of the Relay For Life fundraising efforts for the American Cancer Society. Last year’s event raised US$ 31,642. A great event for a great cause so it’s well worth attending.
