Dwarfins – New Avatars, Affiliates, Developer API and Auction Listings

Dwarfins Stalls

The Dwarfins team have been busy lately, six new avatars were released this week. The new avatars for your roleplaying fun are:

  • Butcher
  • Hunter
  • Barbarian
  • Jester
  • King and Queen
  • Royal Guards

This explains why when I was in the Dwarfins store a few days ago, Dante Spectre kept changing outfits before my eyes, I thought it was the ale! Do not try and outdrink Dante, I still have a sore head. I think he brews the ale himself, he sure puts them away!

However other developments have happened. the first of which I’ll discuss is their Affiliate program. The program offers you 10% of sales and there are a variety of options for your vendor packages, if you are accepted. This is not a free affiliate program, there is a choice of five different vendors, each of which costs L$3,000 or you can get the whole kit and caboodle for L$13,500.

The vendors cover different aspects of all things Dwarfin, Fishing, Gardening, Roleplay (Mesh Avatars), interactives for your breedable Dwarfins and of course, the breedable Dwarfins themself. Then you will have to allow DwarfinsJudy to setup the displays. DwarfinsJudy is a very mysterious character, nobody knows the true identity, my money is on it being Thorrak Rockbeard, although the smart money is on it being Judy Chestnut …. hmmm, maybe I haven’t thought this through properly!

Another area of interest for some may be the Dwarfins API, this is again not free, indeed this one is a lot more expensive, so you will want to be sure it’s for you, the blurb tells us:

The Dwarfins API allows you, the SecondLife™ Developer to have access to Dwarfins data that players do not normally have easy access to. This data allows you you to create custom applications for displaying Dwarfin information to the general public whether it be through sign boards or a full blown website.

There are also some important requirements, which you can read about here, for example you will need a dedicated web server, so this isn’t for the casual participant. Pricing is as follows:

Large – 50,000 Hits/Day Allowed. Startup Fee – $40,000 Lindens

 Small – 25,000 Hits/Day Allowed. Startup Fee – $25,000 Lindens

After drinking wit Dante in the Dwarfins Cave I was feeling a little giddy when someone whispered “Don’t forget the auctions” … I turned around and in my inebriated state I wasn’t sure whether it was Thorrak Rockbeard or the spooky companion with Thorrak who had spoken, Thorrak whistled very innocently.

Anyway, auctions! Yes, now you can list your Dwarfins auctions via the Dwarfins website, go here for more information. The blurb (always useful) tells us:

The Dwarfins Team knows that the key to our success is your success, and we want to do everything possible to ensure your success happens, and quickly! To further that along, we’d like to promote your auctions on our site! To get your auctions listed in our Auctions page, simply fill out the following form.

If you have a need to cancel your auction you will need to contact Judy Chestnut, rather than DwarfinsJudy … hmm maybe Thorrak Rockbeard is DwarfinsJudy… could be! I’ll get to the bottom of this mystery one day. Anyway the auction listings are free! Hurrah!
