After five years, Misty Mole is no longer working freelance for Linden Lab. Misty, who has a very impressive list of credits has put a video up on YouTube highlighting her work, I’ll embed it at the end of the post.
The Moles are a team who help Linden Lab to create content, involving repairing roads, creating buildings, sound effects, musical scores etc. They aren’t as well known as Lindens of course but you’ll find their work around the grid.
Misty’s rather impressive list of work includes:
- Build and objects for Nautilus continent.
- Interior build for Hau Koda airport.
- Memorial – build of the central monument, build of some personal monuments and music.
- Small builds to fill in abandoned land.
- Linden Homes sims and transitionals – decorating and original games hidden in some of the sims I built.
- Pyri – build of the throne and burial room.
- Cape Ekim, original concept and project management and music (dragon by Garden Mole).
- Build for Sea of Fables sims.
- Build for Coastal Waterways sims, including the White Islands game.
- Project management and music for the experimental game build Kneph.
- Project Management, building and original music for Linden Realms.
- Sounds and music for the Grid Hunt.
- Fireworks for SL10B.
The music used in the video is Misty’s work.
Misty is rightly proud of her work, especially the plants she made for the moles and is sad to be leaving the Mole team but it appears a threshold had been crossed. The rights and wrongs of the decision are not really for me to discuss, but appreciation of the work of The Moles is something we probably all should show more of.
I wish Misty all the best in her future ventures and hope that she can continue to share her creative talent with us in one form or another.
