Duran Duran Take Away Building Blues

So there I was swearing about texture offsets, when I decided I’d check out The Ivory Tower Of Prims and see if they had any advice on how to set texture offsets on prims the size of 0.200, 13.600 and 0.200 to make them play nicely. I still don’t know if they do as I couldn’t teleport there. Therefore I decided to sod that for a game of soldiers and go and have a quick peek at The Duran Duran sims (The DDU). This was largely due to Duran Duran having their own Destination Guide section.

Duran Duran — The UFO Club

Hidden beneath the seas of the Duran Duran Universe is the super secret UFO Club, an adventurous club and bar where anything can happen. Rumor has it that members of the band have played a spontaneous deejay gig or two here…

So first things first, on landing I didn’t hear much in the way of music, however I did see a nearby building that looked a bit like a club, so headed there, where I saw the band …. well cutouts of the band anyway!

In The Club

I then discovered a jukebox playing random tunes and it had an easy to use feature that allowed you to type in a song and request it, which is good use of llTextBox.

Then awaited my request, now I was cooking on gas.

Listening to Rio

After a few foot tapping minutes I popped outside the club and went to another couple of buildings, one was entitled Pop Trash and had a rather creative wall inside:

The other was entitled The Skin dive and inside I found you could arm wrestle, pillow fight and mud wrestle.

Then I noticed there was a cable car, this wasn’t the easiest cable car to ride in the world, well you just sit on the thing, so that part was easy, the part that wasn’t easy was expecting it to stop!

There’s also a zeppelin flying around that you can get on. I was about to try and play the drums in Roger Taylor’s dressing room, but alas I crashed before I had chance! There were signs of social media around the place, Facebook like buttons for example. However I didn’t see a video lounge, it would have been nice to be able to watch a few videos whilst there. There’s nothing earth shattering here, but it’s worth a look, it’s certainly more fun than trying to work out texture offsets!

I also must say I quite like the post snapshots to profile feed option, it’s a very useful feature, especially with the way you can easily add the location. I might have to start using my Second Life profile feed more often.
