Save Rodvik’s Wall

So there I am stalking Rodvik’s profile when  I notice he’s into wargames and Russian history, which reminds me I need to catch up on this week’s episode of Spooks. I then go to his wall, where you know you might find the odd hello or something about his interests …. unfortunately you don’t find that you find an unholy mess of people using Rodvik’s wall as a discussion forum.

Now look, I know he appears nice and all that and he’s engaged with the community on twitter, in the forums, over at SLUniverse and commented on blogs but for goodness sake, a profile wall isn’t a place to discuss some of the subjects being raised there, he’s one man, he can’t fix everything and he’s not about to stop some commie plot from taking over a sim, well actually he comes not far from where the intelligence headquarters GCHQ are located as I recall …… hmmm! Anyway! He’s not going to fix all these problems!

This isn’t the Second Life way, I’m a bit of traditonalist myself, arguments should be taken to town hall meetings, office hours, the forum, the blogs, try not to make people cry or post when drunk, well not too drunk anyway, but that’s the way to do it. Then walk away with the defeatist attitude, complain that Linden Lab never listen, bring up the homestead fiasco whenever possible, complain about sim crossings, viewer 2, lag and how it was much better in the old days before Linden Lab opened the doors to everyone, be traditional wherever possible, don’t go to new fangled places like profile walls, it upsets world order and if world order gets upset, heaven only knows what may happen!

Rodvik’s wall should be nurtured, carefully, not covered in graffiti, play nice and play your part in saving Rodvik’s wall by not treating it as a discussion forum! Discussion forums are for discussions, walls are for being short and to the point.

  1. I completely agree, Ciaran. Rod *is* engaged with the community and this is the perfect way to force him to disengage. Please keep this garbage on SLU and Prok’s blog where it belongs.
